Long courses (on sewage and waste water treatment)
Le CITET a, dès sa création, pris en charge la formation de longue durée au profit des stagiaires sélectionnés par l’Office National de l'Assainissement (ONAS), pour répondre à ses besoins futurs :
  • Laboratory technicians
  • Treatment plant technicians
  • Office staff working directly with clients
  • Technicians responsible for works management
  • Management of green areas (module being developed).
    Other modules are currently being developed.

    Training
    Tailor-made courses
    A la carte training programs have been set up at the request of certain Tunisian partners, often in co-operation with international institutions.

    A selection of courses organised in partnership with Tunisian institutions:
  • Training for 318 Ministry of the Interior staff on the management of the urban environment, the management of waste water, solid waste management or environmental impact studies (1999).
  • Training for professionals from various ministries on the management of public sector tenders related to the environment.
  • Training for 96 industrial companies were programmed in 5 sessions and organised in collaboration with the Ministry of Industry, on the theme of the physico-chemical pre-treatment of residual water in the agro-food industry and clean industries.
  • Training workshop on geographical information systems organised for 35 engineers and academics as part of a joint program with the ENIT for the development of an integrated system for modelling and managing water resources in semi-arid areas.
    Examples of training programs set up as part of international co-operation
  • An experimental training program for 20 teachers and secondary school inspectors on developing environmental awareness in Tunisian schools. Organised by the Ministry of the Environment and Land-Use Planning and the CITET, in collaboration with the Ministry of Education, as part of the Globe Cooperation program between the USA and Tunisia.
  • Training course on the integrated management of water resources in the Mediterranean area for 20 managers from countries across the region as part of the METAP III program - MED BRANCH.
  • Training course on integrated environmental management in ecologically sensitive areas with 50 participants from 6 countries (Algeria, Morocco, Egypt, Jordan, Syria and Tunisia), as part of a UNPE – PAM cooperation program.
  • Training program on analytic techniques for organo-chlorate pesticides, heavy metals and radioactivity with 34 participants, all from south shore Mediterranean countries (Algeria, Morocco, Libya, Egypt and Tunisia), as part of a cooperation between the International Atomic Energy Agency (AIEA) and the CITET to provide training to tackle pollution in the Mediterranean.
  • Organisation of a training course on the reuse of treated waste water for 25 Palestinian, Jordanian, Egyptian and Tunisian professionals, financed by the ICARDA.
    As part of a project on the strengthening of Mediterranean regional capacities to undertake environmental impact studies (METAP III – World Bank project), two training programs were undertaken: one for 20 Tunisian professionals, and another for managers from the following countries: Morocco, Syria, Lebanon, Egypt, Slovenia, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Turkey, Albania, Palestinian Authority, Croatia and Tunisia.
