CITET'S ADVANTAGES One of the CITET’s main missions is the development and strengthening the human capacities, in both Tunisia and the countries of the region, in the area of environmental protection and sustainable management. The Tunisian Ministry of Vocational Training and Employment considers CITET as a national training center for environmental management. The CITET has contacts with numerous bodies abroad working on environmental issues, and has strong and dynamic links with international technical co-operation agencies, including those of the European Union, Germany, Luxembourg and France. Skills CITET is at present the only body in the Arab-African region specialised in environmental technologies. Training courses are developed and managed by highly qualified teams, including Tunisian and international professionals, specialised in the various environment-related areas of expertise. These trainers, academics, engineers, and outside consultants are part of a national and international network of experts in most areas of the environmental expertise. The course can be given in arabic, french or english following the client request. Methodology The trainers have an extensive in-field experience. The training courses given tend to have a practical bias. Training courses are designed for small groups of people. The aim is to create an interactive, supportive learning environment. The different training modules include all or some of the following features: presentations of actual situations, case-studies, practical exercises, discussions and exchanges of experience on real problems presented by the participants, and technical visits to working infrastructure. At the beginning of the course, every participant receives full technical documentation. Resources CITET has all the necessary training facilities: seminar rooms with IT and audio-visual equipment, a 400 place amphitheatre, a documentation and information centre open to all bodies, both private and public sectors, laboratories and pilot stations. Fees Course fees were carefully studied: CITET’s courses are among the cheapest on offer. In actual fact, the fees charged cover only the costs incurred by the centre in setting up and managing the courses. The CITET pays close attention to the needs of its partners and clients.
